Hi Viv! Please, tell us something about yourself.

Originally from Brazil, I have been living and working in London for the past 15 years. Most recently, I’ve taught myself coding and have been pursuing a career as Software Engineer at the BBC and as a Freelance Filter developer on the side.

How many effects have you created so far and for which platforms?

I have about 30 filters published on Instagram and hundreds more on my computer.

Name the best effects you created and briefly describe them.

My most used effect is Weirdest, which adds another mouth and ten extra eyes to the person and have been used by Kendal Jenner, Bella Haddid, Emrata and other fashion celebrities. I initially created as part of a series of weird, weirder and weirdest filter and I wasn’t sure I would publish this last one as it looked pretty crazy and I didn’t think people would be interested in trying it out, fortunately I was wrong. I also like Hazy for the colors and Selenite for the technical complexity.

Which platform for creating AR filters is your favourite and why?

Instagram is by far my favourite platform as I love the visual content is provides.

What in your opinion makes an AR effect successful?

Simple idea, easy to use and visually interesting.
