Hi, Matteo! Please, tell us something about yourself.

Hi there, I’m Matteo aka Belzeburp, I’m a 27 years old art director currently based in Milan. I approached AR in April 2019, and felt in love since then. I love to focus on the design of a filter and not only on the logics behind it.

How many effects have you created so far and for which platforms?

Name the best effects you created and briefly describe them.

Celebrities mix. This filter reached pretty good results, it basically “scans” your face and tells you which celebrities you look like. Fun fact: Emily Ratajkowski actually tried it out, and what came out was that she looked like Emily Ratajkowski. It works, right? ;D If you need the video for anything in the article you can find it in my profile. Another popular filter was Your trapper name. This one reached pretty nice results as well, it was shared by many celebrities (some from the Game of Thrones cast)

Which platform for creating AR filters is your favourite and why?

Instagram, I just love the potential of this platform.

What in your opinion makes an AR effect successful?

I think that the art direction behind a filter is pretty important. It also has to be an original one that might inspire others. Funny filters can get pretty popular.
