Hi, Mikael! Please, tell us something about yourself.

My name is Mikael, I am an official lens creator at Snapchat and I come from Norway. I create lenses for fun & to make people smile. I have been creating AR effects for couple of months now.

How many effects have you created so far and for which platforms?

I have created around 120+ lensesfor Snapchat. Everything is random.

Name the best effects you created and briefly describe them.

I would say slime filter, it gives you a good effect almost like slime, it went “viral” on Snapchat for couple of days. Android gives you “android” effect, this lens was made for fun. Let’s not forget the one called Banana.This one was made for fun and to make people laugh and smile.

Which platform for creating AR filters is your favourite and why?

My favorite platform is Lens Studio because itis very easy to create anything you’d like. Lens Studio also got a lot of features that you can play around with. Let’s not forget the customer support, they reply very fast, and it’s helpful.

What in your opinion makes an AR effect successful?

My opinion when it comes to creating AR effects is that when you can make someone’s day better, and get a smile on their face when they’re sad. Also, when you can bring people together and have a laugh. Views doesn’t mean anything if you can’t make people smile or engage them with your lenses.
