Creator Spotlight: Valerie Disorder
Creator from 🇷🇺 Russia
Hi, Valerie! Please, tell us something about yourself.
Hello! I am a 3D artist from Russia, based in Moscow. I graduated from HSE ART & DESIGN SCHOOL as a graphic designer and CGI artist. So, I’ve been working with 3D graphics for a few years now and all of my AR filters contain 3D objects. For me AR is a very perspective area connected with my profession as a digital artist. The AR sphere began to interest me as soon as it appeared and took root in our life. I started creating AR filters back in September last year. At the moment I am a freelancer ready for collaboration.
How many effects have you created so far and for which platforms?
13 effects for the Instagram platform.
Name the best three effects you created and briefly describe them.
Itachi – this effect is the transformation into one of the main characters of the anime Naruto. Itachi is a character with red-eyed sharingans surrounded by a flock of crows.
Wild Collection – balaclava made of 3D butterflies, which varify by the tap on the screen. Bionic makeup. Digital disguise. ⠀
Griffins – the filter with flying 3D griffins placed around the head. There are compositions of golden triangles on the face, as I like adding fashion touch to my filters.
Which platform for creating AR filters is your favourite and why?
I create effects in Spark AR and have not tried any other software yet. I love Spark AR for its usability, frequent updates and improvements.
What in your opinion makes an AR effect successful?
AR filters often succeed through collaborations with brands. I also want to believe that people are interested in unusual effects. I consider the non-standard and aesthetic effect to be successful.

All my effects can also be found on my second Instagram profile: @disorderange (this is my separate digital portfolio).
