Hi, Katya! Please, tell us something about yourself.

I come from a film background. My interest in AR started during the lockdown, and pretty soon I realized I would love to make it my job. I am a freelance creator.

How many effects have you created so far and for which platforms?

I have created more than 15 AR filters. All of them are for Instagram.

Name the best three effects you created and briefly describe them.

The biggest breakthrough: Horoscope; the most beautiful: Head In the Clouds; the most unique: Flower collage.

Which platform for creating AR filters is your favourite and why?

I work in Spark AR since it’s the platform I use the most, I get all my inspiration from there and most of the news about the world.

What in your opinion makes an AR effect successful?

I believe it depends on the person that uses it. If it’s an influencer, I would go for something versatile, because it’s about following fashion and trends. If it’s a fashion brand, I feel like they can give you more space to create since they already have their platform and their niche, they literally tell you what fashion is right now.
